tnb rate tariff 2024

What is green electricity (GET TNB rate)? (GET) is a government initiative to offer a green and environmentally friendly electricity supply generated from renewable energy sources such as solar and hydropower plants. The program was launched in 2022 and continued in 2023. It was introduced under the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources.

The GET program is part of a government initiative under the Malaysian Family Asprasi 100 Days First Members of the Ministerial Assembly.

The aim of the introduction of GET is to encourage domestic, commercial, and industrial consumers to switch to the use of low-carbon electricity in their daily lives. Not only that, it was introduced to reduce the carbon footprint of electricity consumption.

Thus, greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) were reduced by using green electricity with the establishment of this program.

Ultimately, this GET program was created as part of a government initiative to net-zero GHG emissions by the year 2050.

New TNB For Green Electricity Tariff 2024

Starting August 1, the GET TNB program has set the tariff tnb 2024 for GET to be 21.8 cents per kilowatt hour (kWh).

This decision has been made by Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) based on a benchmark for setting the retail price of green electricity supply.

Thus, the revenue collected through the supplication of green electricity will be used for the purpose of developing and increasing the new capacity of renewable energy for domestic, commercial, and industrial users.

  2. It was built to absorb solar power plates under the Large-Scale Solar (LSS) program and TNB’s hydropower stations.
  3. Thus, this program is part of the TNB initiative, and it works naturally under the auspices of TNB.
